365 Blessings- July 9

He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you." (Exodus 15:26)

Nice promise (among others) related to healing that one can meditate on when one is sick. I can't see 2 meanings in what God told the Israelites then. Plain and simple....He said, “I am the Lord, who heals you."

Our Lord is "the healer" whether some people agree with it or not. Ask them who have experienced his healing touch and they will tell you its 100% true. I for one can vouch that he is "the healer" despite having prescribed medicines for the past 23 years.

Medicines and surgery play a great role in relief from sicknesses, but there are a plethora of sicknesses for which man hasn't yet found a cure. Even in those cases God is able and he does heal.
The Psalmist prayed;
Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. (Psalm 6:2)
I said, "O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you." (Psalm 41:4)
When King Hezekiah was sick and at the point of death, he prayed to God and God answered him saying: "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. (2 Kings 20:5)

Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever and the healings that we read of in the Gospels and in the book of Acts still happen when men and women pray with faith. He is an unchanging God. If you are sick or feeling weak in your body, meditate on the promises of healing and deliverance found in the Word Of God. Experience his miraculous touch and glorify him.
