365 Blessings- May 3

For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." (1 Peter 2:6)
As you come to him, the living Stone - rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him - (1 Peter 2:4)

We read here of Jesus who is the chosen and precious cornerstone and also the living stone. The Apostle Peter says that he was chosen by God and precious to him.
Also to us who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone and "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall."

Peter emphasizes what was written in the Old Testament: The one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.
If Jesus is precious to us who believe, we are precious to him too. That's what Peter explains in his epistle.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:8, 10)

Every earthly honor and exaltation pales in comparison with the call of God upon your life. So consider the call of God upon your life as precious. The God who called Abraham, Moses, Samuel and many others is the one who has called you to serve him.

Always think of the call of God in your life as the greatest privilege that you can ever have. Serve him faithfully. He will surely reward you with riches eternal and blessings supernal.
Get ready to hear this call from your Master:
'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' (Matthew 25:23)
