365 Blessings- April 13


Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22,23)

Is there any weakness in God? Shouldn't be/Couldn't be, because he is El Shaddai, God Almighty. Yet the Apostle Paul writing to the Corinthian believer's says,
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. (1 Corinthians 1:25)

God's weakness is nothing other than his agape love. He has compassion on us though we sin or commit unrighteous acts. Though he punishes, yet he loves like no one else can.

The prophet Jeremiah laments the destruction of Jerusalem in the book of Lamentations. Everything that was so glorious now lay waste. Many went into exile in a foreign land. Things looked dull and depressing. Yet he reminds himself of the Lord's great love.

A compassion that never fails can come only from the Creator of all. His compassion is new every morning.
Regarding the compassion of the Lord, The Psalmist says,
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; (Psalm 103:13)
The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. (Psalm 116:5)
For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants. (Psalm 135:14)
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. (Psalm 145:9)

When everything looks gloomy, we can always remind ourselves of these verses. Great is the Lord's faithfulness. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)

So be strong and courageous.
